HomeAbout Us

The NTFA Is the National Federation Governing American Football & The International Federations’ (IFAF) Representative For the Sport In Jamaica.

The NTFA goal is to develop the sport of American Football (GRIDIRON) and its related sports for the people of Jamaica. With close collaboration with The Ministry of Culture, Gender Entertainment and Sports (GOJ), ISSA, other vested institutions and our members we are committed to the overall development of the sport to aide on the aspects of community development, co-curricular activities, and creation of jobs and opportunities in Jamaica.

Our board of directors and developmental committee was formed with some of the top Tackle Football coaches in the USA, officials from some of the worlds’ leading athletic brands, NCAA officials, NFL directors, healthcare officers, and former Jamaican Athletes that have been privy to Gridiron opportunities that we are developing in Jamaica. The leadership has coached and played at a high level and have quite a few former athletes that live in Jamaica that are qualified to instruct and are certified coaches with practical experience.

It is a foregone conclusion that the youth of Jamaica deserve the best possible education and opportunities that we can provide them for a better future.
The National Tackle Football Association (NTFA) is committed to this ideal, and to the belief that a quality education does not begin or end in the classroom.
The advent of Gridiron in Jamaica is a preverbal game changer to say the least for the future of a great percentage of our population. We have found a number of athletes that have been marginalized, but are able to compete at a high level in Gridiron.
We are pleased to introduce these opportunities for a sport that athletes of all physical stature can compete and further enhancing their aspirations.

The aim of the NTFA is to develop, promote, direct, supervise and regulate the sporting disciplines of American Football (and it’s many facets) athletic programs in which all member organizations can compete.
To accomplish this aim, the Association:
1. Establishes and enforces regulations to ensure that all such athletic programs are part of, and contribute towards, the entire educational program;
2. Cooperates closely with the Government of Jamaica and other organizations administering the development of sports programs;
3. Development, management and promotion of Jamaica’s National Teams that will compete in international competitions annually;
4. Enact policies of safety protocols for athletic trainers, coaches and athletes that ensure the proper teaching, training and protection of the athletes;
5. Promotes the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play in all athletic contests;
6. Enacts policies and guidelines that safeguard the physical, mental and moral welfare of the student athlete, and protect them from exploitation;
7. We will lend support, governance and training through all member organizations that will be operating programs for athletes benefit.

We intend to develop the sport of Tackle Football with the focus of creating opportunities for our athletes and job creation.
